Terms of Use

Last Updated: 3/27/2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the PolyShare platform ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, including students and instructors ("Users").

2. User Accounts

  • Student Accounts: Student access is managed through course codes provided by their instructor. Students are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login method (picture password).
  • Instructor Accounts: Instructor accounts are verified and provide administrative capabilities for managing student work within their courses. Instructors are responsible for all activity that occurs under their account.

3. User-Generated Content

Ownership and Responsibility:

You retain full ownership of the original creative works (3D models, 2D images, etc.) that you upload or create on the Service ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting or publishing it.

License Grant to PolyShare:

By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant PolyShare a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and perform the User Content in connection with providing and promoting the Service. This license is necessary for us to, for example, display your work in the gallery or create thumbnails. This license terminates when you or we remove your User Content from the Service.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service to create, upload, or share any content that:

  • Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or invasive of another's privacy.
  • Contains photorealistic images of real people, especially children. The platform is for artwork and designs, not personal photography.
  • Constitutes bullying, "hate speech," or is otherwise discriminatory.
  • Infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademark, or patent.
  • Contains software viruses or any other computer code designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware.

You also agree to use our AI-powered tools responsibly and in accordance with these content standards.

5. Content Moderation

We provide instructors with tools to monitor student work and take down content that violates these Terms or is otherwise deemed inappropriate for the educational environment. While we do not pre-screen all content, we reserve the right, in our sole discretion (or at the direction of an instructor), to remove any User Content without prior notice.

6. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Instructors may also remove students from their courses, which will suspend their access to that course's content.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the operation or availability of the Service or the information, content, or materials included therein.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall PolyShare, nor its directors, employees, partners, or agents, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.
